Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.

Unbelievable Tekkers
The pub crawl last night was quite something, although it started off extremely slow the night turned out to well worth it. This was probably due to the fact that things don´t start off until around 2am and in all fairness they aren´t as an energetic as we are. There was one club called Radio City which had some belter tunes on so the shapes were well and truly on the dancefloor showing the spaniards how things are done. Although the night took a turn for the worst, as i dropped my phone trying to clamber onto the top bunk so i had to get up early bells to go get a new phone which was quite a trek. The beach however made up for it, as Victor and Gary will vouch there was no doubt some unbelivevable tekkers. We essentially cured the night out with a 6 hour session on the loungers and riding the waves of Valencia. The highlight today was watching Bolvia vs Paraguay on a state of the art fake pitch in the middle of a park that looked straight out of Compton, but we arrived late and the scoreboard didn´t work so when Paraguay scored, we didn´t know who was winning or losing, although there were some sick skills on show but also some typically questionable dives. Tomorrow is our last night in Valencia and then we go on to Madrid to meet the first batch of boys Jimmy and Chris, which should add something to the atmosphere. mucho amor hermanos.

Broken in Valencia
Valencia is a far step down in terms of heat, the mere 30c does not even force me to break a sweat anymore, but the beach tomorrow should try and prove otherwise. Seville, was a relaxing city with more plazas and inglesias to offer than paella. It was quite the adventure on our first train ride, it took 8 hours but was 40 minutes late upon arrival in Valencia which caused us to panick as more and more people mentioned Barcelona. Also, the constant breaks at every other train station was just pointless and the fact that everyone switched the seats round to face the other way was just bizarre. Victor is now officially bankrupt with just 1 cent to his name after forgetting his pin to his bank account, budgeting has never been harder. Valencia, is by far a hugely vibrant city a brief exploration has lead us to find a more beautiful city than Seville, with far more civilization to offer. Unfortunately, we missed the pub crawl but shall redeem ourselves come tomorrow. Oh, and we discovered THE best pub/restaurant in Valencia, it may cost us 4 euro for a pint, but the service, was out of this world.

Fuego
As the title suggest today was possibly the hottest day I have experienced, it peaked at 50c which wasn't even at noon, it just got hotter and hotter. Fortunately as I write this I'm protected by the thick white walls of the hostel which is basically a 3 storey apartment with bunk beds. We have scoped out the city and realised it must not fully come alive until later in the evening, although the people are just the one time, in some resepect. We're about to get a scran on, possibly even sit in and cook and enjoy it on the terrace before exploring the nightlife. I hope the boys have all arrived home, well and in one piece. It's too hot to be doing much here except for enjoying the local food and drinks. Oh and for Victors first couple of blunders, he managed to lose his passport, twice and then realising he needed a plastic bag for liquids oh and we saw Steve Jamieson in the airport, I think the holiday is complete before it even took off. Hurhurhurhurhurh.

Anticipation
With just a few hours to go until we set off excitment is the only thing right now, but i am still flabbergasted at Victor's lack of general common sense. His latest dilemma is that he reckons he can travel without a passport, he even began telling us with the sentence `Ok, i know this sounds stupid but...' this is definitely just the start of daily dozy quotes. Surprisingly, my bag is underweight and the majority of that is the 26 packs of noodles but even so it still weighs a tonne and the walk from the bus station to the hostel in 38c heat will be a workout to rival the picton muscle club. Hopefully, we'll travel on from seville to valencia and then to somewhere else before meeting up with Loftus and Jimmy in Madrid. In fact, I hope that all the boys will make it home safely tomorrow and get a good rest and recovery as I'm sure the likes of Bains and Rob have had a few injuries no doubt and a fair few such as England and Carney will be red as. The baton has been passed on to us to represent throughout Europe and I'm sure we'll leave our mark, apologies to Garno for missing his birthday next week, but as I have promised, we shall make up for it in the Dam. See you all there.

Food
With just one week to go until the adventure begins, the main thought on my mind is food. Of course throughout spain i'll be on a diet of paella, France will throw me some sort of pastry or baguette and Italy will provide spaghetti for my stay. Yet, this will involve money and we may not always find somewhere good enough and at a reasonably affordable price, especially in Rome. Thus, I have decided to take an inexpensive but delicious meal, well 30 of them to be precise, that should keep me fed. KOKA noodles are most certainly the one time and all I need is some boiled water and a bowl and I'm sorted. Also on my list will be custard creams and possibly some sort of sweets but as of yet I'm undecided. It's quite strange the way all the unhealthy stuff keeps the longest, but hopefully all this travelling will help me keep me hench. Oh and one more thought is related to Victor (one third of the travelling trio) he actually thinks he can make it around Europe without a backpack and insists he can take his entire wardrobe, still dozy as ever.

Eurotrip

ok so basically the purpose of this blog is to document my travels across europe this summer. When i was younger, around 13 or so me and a group of friends decided to travel europe when we left sixth form. Although we did orginally plan to go by caravan just like Max & Paddy's Road to Nowhere, we decided trains were just as good. So just follow the adventure as we travel through Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and finally the Netherlands. We plan to leave on the 26th July and be back on the morning of 19th August (Results Day), only three of us are doing the entire journey, with friends meeting us in Madrid, Rome and Amsterdam as they will be recovering from a more typical boys summer holiday in Zante. Good luck to us all.
