The Need to Travel far far away

Another year and another adventure has passed. In some respects Eurotrip 2.0 was better than last year and in others it wasn't. It's definitely hard to compare the two considering last year we had no expectations whilst this year there was a slight pressure to eclipse it. Firstly, I'd say that no matter where you go for how long it's a privilige to travel and see a completely different life, that in itself is an adventure and certainly something I'll carry on doing for life.

There were certainly more twists and turns in this trip than last, for example being stuck in a little place called Chambery was possibly the lowest point of the trip yet it was just one of those obstacles that life throws at you, how were we to know that Italian rail workers would be on strike when we wanted to go to Milan. Yet, the setbacks simply make the comebacks that little better, even when we couldn't find a night out in Milan every other place made up for it namely, Budapest and Krakow.

No matter how hard it rains or if you're too stubborn to pay 30 euros for a room there's always something to look forward to, for example bathing in hot springs in Budapest or a tram crawl in Krakow or even going to watch Hertha Berlin at the Olympic stadium even if the standard of football wasn't the best. All I know is that I'll never be bored of travelling and I'll never give up exploring.

On a side note, I'd just like to say that if some ofmy youtube videos reach over 100 or if this blog reaches 3000 views then I shall release an exclusive clip of Chris Loftus in his drunken state that will reveal a side that we've all known was there but for some of you have never seen it.

The plans for next year are plentiful, another Eurotrip? Or possibly a visit to the Far East, everyone rages about Thailand and Vietnam and after a few friends have been it's definitely a possibility. Plus, I've always wanted to do Camp America as you get the opportunity to travel after, even if it means I go solo and meet random people to go travelling with. Beyond that, the Northern lights, Machu Picchu and Amazon rainforest are just three places I want to go the latter most importantly because who knows how long it will be there.

I know I ramble on about hopes and dreams of travelling afar and a part of mean wishes I could just be a travel writer, but I'd like to just take a minute out of the mayhem in my head and dedicate this post to Thomas Browne an old school friend from little school who tragically lost his life whilst I was away. It's scary that someone your own age can be snatched away like that and my heart and thoughts go out to all his family and those around him. I know the pain and heartache of losing those around you and although it comes to us all, he was certainly too young to leave us.

So, if you're ever sat there complaining how you can't get abroad and enjoy the sun then just take a minute and think how lucky we are to just experience the familiar surroundings about us.

Thanks for reading and keep posted for next summers adventure.

Back to Delerium

Brussels was the one place I wanted to go on the whole trip, not for the fantastic sights or great people but simply because of the beer. Having worked in a beer restaurant and tasted so many different beers it's no surprise that I wanted to visit here, home to Delerium Tremens cafe with 2004 different beers. However, unlike my counterparts I knew what 10% can do and so when they started ordering in the pints I simply sat back and watched the drama unfold.

We got to Brussels pretty late so we just caned the bar and stumbled back to the hostel which was literally 5 minutes away fortunately. Although the hostel was far from quiet due to a certain Phil Crawley spewing up his guts all over his bedsheets which I duly cleaned up for him whilst I writhed in pain in bed. True friendship.

The next full day took us until about 3 to rise due to griminal hangovers but we managed to fit in a visit to The Atonium, Brussels most famous modern attraction and a European landmark. It really is immense in its whole architechure as it really is just a giant atom with exhibitions and a restaurant in each little ball atom thingy, yeah I flopped chemistry, evidently. We took a little walk around the surrounding areas and attempted to find Tutankhamun as some poster said he was in town, but to no avail we couldn't find any sign of him.

The last night of Brussels and of Eurotrip 2.0 was spent inevitably in the Delerium cafe but this time we spent time in each floor and funnily enough the Brussels bar crawl bounced in, thank god we didn't go in it, I'm sure you can guess why. Midway through the night we ventured to Grand Place, a nice prestigious open square to spark up Carneys Monte Cristo cigar to mark the trip and show just how far we come. It was rather fitting that since he bought it in Brussels a month prior to the trip that it return there to be smoked by each of us and enjoyed thoroughly just like Eurotrip 2.0

Again, the night ended with someone throwing up, this time it was Chris Loftus and Leo Chen, check out the youtube page for an exclusive video of the former struggling in the toilet. Considering there was one other girl in our room who must have hated us for our antics and one big Purple Aki next door who complained, we were thankful that neither kicked off once more.

Sadly, we were rudely awaken to check out at 11am and so spent the whole day sitting in the sun eating, drinking and waiting for the sad flight back. Homesickness is all mental and I can genuinely say that given the money, I would have carried on travelling, but this has been another amazing trip with people who I consider brothers and next year will definitely be a step up to conquer the wider world.

That green haazzeee

After being destroyed from the pub crawl it was a miracle that we all rose at 8am to catch our 9:30am train here to Amsterdam, already we've experienced the best sweets on offer (appropriately changed for our younger readers). Again, once we stepped off the tram to our hostel... the Geordies were there and then once we stepped into KFC after our first round of sweets... the Geordies were there, somehow us bumping into them seems like no coincidence. I think it's safe to say that everyone's enjoying the dam considering everyone's still tucked up in bed. Leo on the other hand has had another hiccup, losing his bank card and drivers license and uni card... he really is challenging Victor here.

As for the two and a half days spent in Amsterdam, they truly were just complete bliss chilled out with our sweets whilst Britain riots and stock markets fall we were just sitting back and enjoying the laughs, hard to beat. Apart from Leo who had to go and sort out his bank card we had all visited Amsterdam before and so we never really made it to see anything other than sweets. A few of the hazy highlights I can recall include:

  • Carney realising that Richard Gere loves his ladies of the night due to all of his films having some sort of connection to them

  • Shaun, our Geordie friend demonstrating the finest arm curl/stretch the world has ever seen whilst on sweets and of course sleeping with one eye half open

  • Phil having to prove ownership of his backpack by revealing he has a book called Sophie's World to which the whole group fell into fits of laughter in response

  • Eating twice my body weight after visiting KFC, Maccies and Burger King all at least twice along with FEBO and their devilishly convenient coin operated food dispensers, also in the frame was New York Pizza slice and countless kebab houses, Amsterdams finest cuisine definitely.

Amsterdam is a beauitful place and no not just for the sweets, plenty of history is there and there's a host of different people there to meet. Despite not visiting anything remotely touristy apart from the coffeehouses it is a place that I recommend everyone goes especially anyone who is 18 or over because new laws come in prohibiting sweets to tourists next year, get there quick.

Onwards to Brussels, keep watching.x

The Geordies are following us....

I haven't forgotten about this blog it's only that since Krakow everything has pretty much been a blur. Firstly, we had to make our way to Berlin which involved a 05:30am change but which later on turned out to be 08:30am and so after travelling for a full 24 hours from hostel to hostel we were well and truly knocked out for the night.

Having completed the same walking tour in Berlin to see the historical monuments on offer we ventured to Magnet club in the heart of east Berlin, where we met our Geordie friends. I don't think I've explained this possibly but we met some Geordies in Budapest... and then Krakow... and then Berlin... and now Amsterdam. Fate seems to like playing with us both as we keep on bumping into each other throughout Europe, wierd. Anyway, we spent the night there representing the best shapes of the land, the second day was spent moving hostels as we were unable to get to Hamburg so an extra two nights were forced upon us in Berlin, oh no.

This gave us a great chance to explore a bit more of Berlin and our new hostel was in the best location possible, a nice little park with plenty of cheap places to eat where everyone and I mean everyone carried a drink about, no matter if they were going to work, do the laundry or pick up the kids everyone carries a drink around, not a bad place to be at. Our final day and night consisted of us going to watch Hertha Berlin vs FC Nuremburg at the Olympic Stadium. Tickets were only 17 euros and despite having a track around the pitch the atmosphere was incredible and so were both fans, however the standard of football wasn't great so everyone focused upon drinking and a fat bratwurst. After watching Hertha Berlin go 1-0 we went straight to the pub crawl to revisit so old haunts of last years ventures. The highlight of the night was seeing Seline, our tour guide from last year, of course she was extremely hesitant when 6 scousers approached her all knowing her name, it sounds wierd yes but she was a great tour guide as Gary and Victor may recall and so we only too eager to sing her praises. The night was epic and messy with Breakfast Unfortunately making their first true appearance and demanding parties upon every dancefloor and the crowd loved it.

Berlin was great to us and it's definitely up there with Barcelona as somewhere to live later on in life, let's see how Amsterdam matches up. Keep watching.x

Tony Soprano & Tram Crawls

The plan was to stay in Krakow for only two nights, but after the first night we realised what an amazing place this is and that another night is required. Krakow has been pretty impressive, it's smaller than Warsaw but has so much to offer. The stereotype of Poland as an eastern european country doesn't count for anything, instead we've found it's one of the friendliest cities with a great atmosphere and cheap cheap prices. The vlog will show just how much you can get for your moneys worth.

As for the first night we found our first pub crawl... which turned out to be a tram crawl... We had a power hour in the first bar with shots and pints getting thrown around for a full 60 minutes. Then we descended onto a two carriage tram which circled Krakow for an hour or two, it had an onboard disco and smoke machine and with 100 people crammed together we all learnt to make some friends. The night ended up back in the same bar but it opened up a club floor upstairs so that we could teach the Polish what real shapes look like.

After the dirtiest of hangovers we simple ate the cheapest Maccies 4 quid for a large meal (best way to gauge the value of the currency). We ended the night by going to Pod beer restaurant, where the portions were huge and the prices outrageously small. Here, we met no other than Tony Soprano ok maybe not actually him but the Canadian version, he was a sight to behold and easily commanded the attention of every single waitress in the house having saluted Carney for his half chicken and Officers platter shout, he bid us fair well to go and sort some business...

Being on the Eurotrip I wasn't really planning on visiting Auschwitz, but since we were so close it had to be done. None of us were really prepared for it, the camp itself was split into three but we were only allowed to visit two. First, we visited the actual camps, Auswitchz-Birkenau itself and the iconic gates where the trains took everyone through, it was a pretty harrowing sight in all fairness to see how vast it was and just what people suffered. The second site itself Auswitchz 1 included the museum which put everything into context. Each building contained a different topic and some of them really hit home of the suffering of those there. We were allowed to enter one of the gas chambers which just gave me the worst chills throughout my body, to see the room where so many people died was just spine chilling, especially to see nail marks on the wall where they had tried to scratch their way out, for me I couldn't stay in there long with the whole silence of the building eating away at me. The worst thing for me personally was seeing the belongings of all those lost piled up, with countless shoes and glasses all on display, even infants clothings stacked so high it's impossible to estimate. Although it was a pretty somber moment it's something that I urge everyone to do in their lifetime to realise some of the worlds atrocities and give us a greater perspective of ourselves considering what those people endured.

Onwards with Eurotrip and we now march back to Berlin for a great return after last years antics. Another sleeper train... with no reservations and a change at 5am, never a dull journey in Eurotrip.

The Great Hungarian Heist

The past few days here in Budapest have not only been a blur but have been a more than worthy compensation for the past few days. Having arrived two days ago, I think the first thing on our minds was to recover from the long and winding train ride from Milano.

Firstly, we had to get from Milano to Monfalcone, this wasn`t exactly plain sailing as despite having a couchette to ourselves from Monfalcone to Budapest we still had to risk it to get there to begin with. However, our luck began to turn and we made our way to the sleeper train with no problem at all. In fact, we made two new friends in the Monfalcone waiting room Joan and Geraldine as the episode 12 of the vlog will show. The plan for the sleeper train was to just smash the bar and sleep our way to Budapest, this worked up until the passport checks began... in total we had about 7 checks with two being in the same place by the same authorities. Of course, this just infuriated us more and only Phil can could capture it better with his strong words to the guards.

As for our actual stay here it has basically included two nights out to make up for the lack of parties in the past week, one visit to some Turkish baths and many many fat scrans. The one highlight of the trip was after we had visited the baths, which by all means were the best thing to cure a hangover and a great way to relax. Although, we were soon flustered on our way back to the hostel as we decided not to buy a new ticket. It had to be just our luck that ticket inspectors were waiting at the bottom of the escalators and soon two jobsworths were on our case demanding 6000 forint each which is around 20 quid with our failure to pay on the spot resulting in the fine doubling when the police arrive. If this didn`t happen then we were threatened with jail... of course we were in the wrong and we might have paid but as if poor travelling students would willingly stump up the money without a second thought. Thus, we challenged their authority and waited for the police who didn't even arrive after 20 minutes at by which point they were clutching at straws and so lowered their demands to 4000 forint. Obviously, we realised this was extortion and so gave it toes with all of us just walking off up the escalators but Crawley was unfortunately the last one to leave and so he was cornered by one of the ticket inspectors and nearly laid out in a Hungarian massacre. Carney to the rescue bailed back down and distracted the idiot enough so that Phil could escape. Meanwhile, Leo Chen had sneakily kept himself apart from us and after pretending to study the tube map he simply walked out of the other exist, cheeky chink. At the other end of the spectrum Loftus had ran out another exit after panicking and then carried on running all the way back to the hostel, a good mile away at least. All in all, we learnt a valuable lesson of not to be niave and challenge any form of authority... a lesson everyone should learn.

Budapest has been an amazing city and despite not seeing any sights apart from a couple of baths we've had a tremendous time and many a happy ending. Let's see if Krakow can compare... keep watching.x

The Tragedies of Travelling

The past few days have been extremely difficult for us all. It started with our decision to re-route to Lyon which incidently trapped us in Chamberry and got us to Milan slightly later and so we had to cut Split out of our list.

During the day time has been great, we've explored many places and appreciated every city apart from Chamberry of course. Yet we still haven't had a full night out yet, neither Lyon or Milan have pub crawls that we found last year. Instead a Monday in Milan is apparently dead and instead the majority of Italians just sit round having a quiet drink rather than demand parties like ourselves.

Although we have all been disappointed with most of the nights so far we are all agreed that the trip is just as good and this experience of not having a perfect Eurotrip like we did last year has only made us appreciate it more. We leave for Budapest in a couple of hours and it's guaranteed that will be smashed well and truly. If anything the lows of the last destinations night wise will only make the highs that much better on the rest of the trip.

Travelling isn't plain sailing and we have well and truly learnt this lesson. Oh and to rub further salt in the wound we had 5 wonderful Barcelona chicas arrive in our dorm last night... which unfortunately was our last night.

Things can only get better... keep watching.x

It can't be worse than Chamberry

The absence of updates shows just how chaotic the past few days have been. The last post shows us leaving for Chamberry from Lyon. However, upon arriving there and attempting to purchase tickets onwards to Milan it turned out the Italian workers were on strike and so we were stranded in Chamberry for 24 hours.

Grimbergen.

We past the time by first getting some breakfast at around 11am and staying there until 2pm until the arcade was open so we could get on the internet and play games. Although we had nowhere to sleep we were determined not to pay and decided upon sleeping in the train station, oh how we are blinded by our principles. The next few hours were spent sleeping in the park and playing no bounce with acorns and then grabbing a fat dirty sweaty kebab whilst watching some entourage. At this point it was 9pm and it had began to pour down along with thunderstorms. Eventually we gave in and paid 30 euros for a hotel.

Fortunately, everything from there ran smoothly and we are now in Milan. Lake Como has just been smashed and we discovered an Italian buffet where you only pay for one drink and eat everything, up until the point of being sick... and then some. A heaven for travellers. The plan now is to visit the San Siro tomorrow and get onto a pub crawl and finally depart for Budapest.

Dirty Sweaty Maccies

Firstly, I should highlight this is a french keyboard so any mistakes cannot be bla,ed upon my current state.

Barcelona is noz behind us and even though we didnt spend anywhere near enough time visting the sights awe all still had a great ti,e. The hostel itself was a welco,e relief to the Benni boys as they had neqr enoufgh forgottten what a bed was, the first night involved an explrq*ation of La Ra,bla and then a nce ,meal in a Tapas bar but with the Benni hangover looming we all called it a night. However, the last night in Barca collided with Loftus's brthday and so a pub crawl was s,ashed with Garno well and truly at the root of evryones hangover. I myelf wasn't feeling great and so called it a night with Blackmore, but we soon found ourselves with some female companions along La Rambla and sufice to say Blackmore was €25 lighter due to some silky pickpocketing skills.

At the moment we are situated in Lyon due to being unable to get to Milan and so the past two days have been spent on trains and very very steep hills as the vlogs will demonstrate. Lyon itself is a wonderful city, it may not have much to do but you can easily lose yourself exploring. The hostel is set up in the hill which was a bitch climbing but it offers some great views of the entire city. Having only met some yank birds from Michigan briefly who wished us a 'great time travelling' we are definitely awaiting Milan to meet some more: As for the nightlife we discovered a few bars with one in particlar providing many a Belgian beer and one of the lovliest smiles in Europe thus we smashed it a bit as my typing can prove.

hwever. we have to be up in 5 hours to get to Milan. TYhe only problem being we are only guarenteed to get to Chamberry on the edge of France and any further is just a major risk. So, if this blog is not updated in the next few days we are well and truly goolied in a one horse town.

So, there is about 5 hours until we need to rise once more to conquer Europe, watch this space.

Pungent feet and crusty towels

An early start of 4.30am slowly turned into a slight nightmare for Leo and myself. With the gate closing at 6.00am we were still stuck going through security checks whist Garno swaned through the fast lane. Further to the delay we realised Garnett was on a later flight and that we had to meet him in Barca later on. We managed to make final call to our relief but were only greeted by evils from the awaiting passengers already on board.

The arrival of the boys was a spectacle to behold, each carrying a war wound of their own but all equally distraught as if they had been touched by Purple Aki. The above picture shows Wilson in our hostel, which is the best I've ever been to as of yet. We can all conclude that he's not in the best of states and is now sound asleep resting for the night ahead. We're conveniently close to Av. Diagonal and just 10 minutes from the beach so the location is pretty good. Loftus has arrived with Brown and Stanton at last years Barca hostel with Garno and Leo both choosing another hostel closer to us. Tonight is about getting everyone on the mend, even if does involve cerveza.

Eurotrip starts here and this will be a month to remember. Watch this space.x

Packing isn't really that much of a bitch

With less than 12 hours before I leave for the airport the ordeal of cramming everything into the backpack is looming. Everyone always moans and post an fb status about it all but the fact is it really is piss easy. I must have set some records packing because I left halfway through an advert break and still made it back to catch the end of One Tree Hill.

But yeah, everything is now packed apart from my phone charger which I'll hopefully remember to pack in the morning. Carney sent a text to confirm everyone is alive, to an extent which is promising. The first vlog is up, bit wierd sitting there talking to a camera, but hey it'll be jokes to look back on. As for tomorrow, excitment is definitely set in and it's even better now that the UK is fully engulfed in horrendous weather, touch wood our flight is fine. The half four wake up call is not pleasant but Leo Chen picking me up to go the Airport is great, nothing but love for my chingalings.

The adventure starts tomorrow, keep watching this space.x

Benicassim

So Eurotrip 2.0 has finally begun, 4 of the 6 depart to Benicassim tomorrow morning after a slight mishap. The mishap being that Phil booked the flight out a day early and only discovered the error a couple of days ago, at least they get an extra day on holiday.

I've finally got the funds together and a slightly rushed route of where we could possibly head, namely: Barcelona, Milan, Split, Budapest, Vienna, Munich, Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels. This is just an idea, I was hoping that maybe once I start the vlog that people will give us ideas and places to head for.

With just over a week before the travelling begins, I should explain the current situation. We have 6 persons doing the entire trip so far, my good self, Jack England, Phil Crawley, Matthew Carney, Leo Chen & Chris Loftus. Mike Wilson, previously labelled as a serial bottler has actually bottled it and now seems intent on leaving us in Barcelona. Alex Yoh, Greg Garnett & Michael Blackmore all intend on the same plan but with a little persuasion Blackmore will make the group a nice seven. Jimmy Liu, is meeting with his bird and uni friends, so hopefully he can get away from face grabbing her to meet up with us at some point.

All in all, everything seems in place, flights booked, route partially imagined, money ready and bags packed... mentally that is. This trip appears to be eclipsing last years in terms of the ability of a spontaneous destination but I just can't lose the feeling that something's about to go wrong...

Grafting

Exams finally finished last week yet I've been staying down here until early July to earn the money and fund the trip. The addition of Alex Yoh and Leo Chen is a welcome surprise, with the latter still pondering the length of his journey. The good news is that everyone is now sorted... more or less. The attempts to fund the trip have been quite contrasting, with the likes of Wilson staying at home hoping to grab a couple of shifts to Carney grafting hard and sweeping floors.

Although he's lazy, he has done some good research and the following picture is of Cinque Terre in Italy, this is the type of place we will look to discover, we've done the capital cities and the main tourist destination. It's time to step it up and explore properly.

Hopefully the YouTube channel will take off once I'm back and I've actually got a video camcorder to record stuff and quite possibly a few viewers will suggest places for us to go and set us a couple of challenges... see where that leads. So as the day draws to a close and another shift ends we're all one day closer to departing for round 2 of the adventures.

Tourism Suicide

I was hoping that the rumours floating around this week about the coffee shop ban to tourists in the Netherlands was some sort of crude jokes. However, it looks set to happen as the tabloids grab hold of the story and verify the claims. It appears that come the end of the year tourists shall have to pay for an annual `dope pass' for one cafe and each cafe is allowed 1500 members. In all honesty, I'm perfectly fine with this considering we hit the Dam in just over 8 weeks, so we'll get the best of it before the heavy hand of the law strikes.

The latest update of the trip is as follows:

  • Everyone apart from Wilson is completely booked (Barca hostel, Rail pass & flight home from Brussels)

  • We await from Carney and Swainbank to report back on their trip to Brussels to see how long it's worth staying there

  • I can't be fucked with these exams

So, it's 7 weeks to the day until I set off to Barcelona. It's also less than 24 hours before my Economics exam, swerve Classical models and the ISLM. I want my sangria and paella.

The Slow Beginning

As is customary with making any arrangements with a group of 3 or more lads, things tend to drag and drag and then drag a little more but once things get going we can't be stopped. So right now, we've had a few people book a coach from Benni to Barca which once everyone has done, I can book flights out and a hostel for them to recover.

This leaves us with one final step to complete the preparation for the trip namely, book flights home in which case this time round it may be Brussels. Jingy has to come home on the 11th to catch up with his Uncle who's over from the States. This leaves us with a prediciment of whether to travel on without him to one last city or to just leave with him. The pass itself would run out on the 11th so we could easily get to Brussels on the 10th and let him spend a day and night there and we fly home on the 13th or we could just get there early and fly home with him.

Nontheless, Eurotrip is all for one and one for all. Can't be ditching one of the group so that they miss an entire city, I'm sure we'll sort it out eventually i.e. Jack, Phil or I as the rest are simply sheep and just follow whoever organises stuff.

As Miss Silcock says... In the end, we'll get it sorted and despite being in the middle of exams, I just want to give up on life and do this 24/7, if only there was some sort of viable job that could let me do this....

Mike Wilson... Serial Bottler

With the prospect of the second Eurotrip looming it all seems a bit daunting, not just because no one is organising it from start to finish but also because those people who promised to come last year are preaching the same old story. However, this year Mike Wilson has gone one step further having acquired a 50 litre backpack, now that's some serious shit if I've ever heard it.

But let's make one thing clear.... this is Mike Wilson.

I will only believe him when I see him in Toulon where I hope to meet the rest of the group, until then I shall take his remarks on the chin and play along in his demented game. Eurotrip 2.0 will be just as good if not better but I would be lying if I said I'm not worried. I have to meet them somewhere and it might well be me on my ones and so I have the slight thought in the back of my mind that I'll be there stood at the airport by myself. I haven't the faintest clue who will step up to the plate to run this but considering last year Eurotrip was organised by Feburary and not a word has been discussed now... well it just appears this will be an epically unorganised but nontheless brilliant adventure. After all, it's all about the spur of the moment stuff, let's just hope I have someone to share it with.

Here we go... Again!!!

Ok here's the jist of things, I cannot miss out on travelling no matter how poor or busy i may be. I simply refuse to allow others to travel without me present. Thus, Pat has been informed of my plans and now I intend to fly out to Italy and meet the boys once they have travelled round from Benni. This is essentially the last time I will be able to go on holiday until at least 2013 and that's a major IF as well. The opportunity to meet new people and explore new places is just tooo mouthwatering and so despite the loss of Victor and Ga I shall continue to wave the flag for eurotrip. I know exactly what you're thinking... how will we get around without Ga-Nav? I guess the answer is we're going to have to use a map... So yes, the blog is reopen and you will be updated more than last time to the adventure we undertake.

The Conquer List

With university life well and truly underway I've realised the following:

  • The next two and a half years will be focused on studies and exams
  • I probably only have Summer 2011 to myself due to internships in second year
  • I'll be 21 when I graduate

These three things mean that my opportunity to travel is going to be highly restricted. The aspirations of an Eastern Eurotrip, Camp America and South America adventures look to be squashed by the fact that I have to grasp employment opportunities as fast as I can so not to be caught up by younger competition.

However, this doesn't mean that I haven't given up on fufilling my dreams, that will never happen.

Too many choices and not enough Money or Time

Eurotrip feels so long ago, it almost feels like it never happend. But here we are again, planning another adventure to keep the tradition alive. It appears that after such a triumph, many of those who resented travelling such as Carney have turned over a new leaf and are determined to come on this trip. This has lead to a few of the boys already purchasing tickets for Benicassim with the intention of carrying on travelling. Personally, I would love to do this but with Benni just below Barcelona and the rest of the boys wanting to go Valencia and other parts of Spain it feels pointless to repeat places.

Originally, this was meant to be Eastern Eurotrip whereby we fly to somewhere quite southern such as Greece and then head north towards Amsterdam and possibly Sweden. However, with Victor and Gary not participating on a boys holiday it feels wrong to travel without the original trinity in place. Such a solid foundation was key to the trip, everyone would be lost without Gat Nav. Fact. Plus, without Victor around who's going to shout random weird abuse at everyone ? We'll just have to see how things progress, a couple may still head for a proper boy's holiday, but for me it seems that Europe will have to wait to be conquered once more. America and Canada seem highly likely, either way new places can only mean new adventures.
